SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL...

SPANISH FILM FESTIVAL

The Spanish Film Festival which took place in Pune was organized by Pune International Film Festival (PIFF). Pune Film Festival is established to promote the exhibition of National and International Films jointly with government of Maharashtra.
This festival was organized in the famous National Film Archive of India (NFAI).
The mission of NFAI is to safeguard the heritage of Indian and International cinema for dissemination of Healthy Film Culture, promotion and research on various aspects of cinema. Since 1964 it has evolved in to a great liberty of books, periodicals, film scripts, film prints. NFAI organizes film screenings and festivals in collaboration with film societies, cultural organizations and educational institutions.
The Spanish Film Festival in India is an event promoted by casa de la India (India House) in Spain in collaboration with Spanish institute for Cinema and Audiovisuals Arts (ICAA) of Spanish ministry of culture, the Spanish agency for International Corporation and Development (AECID), the Spanish Organization for the management of producers rights (EGEDA), the instituto Cervantes in N. Delhi and the embassy of Spain in India.

The films which were screened were:-

1.      EL SECRETO DE SUS OJOS (the secret in their eyes) 129 min.
2.      HIERRO (hierro) 94 min.
3.      LOS ABRAZOS ROTOS (Broken Embraces) 127 min.
4.      GARBO: EL ESPIA (Garbo: The Spy) 87 min.
5.      TRES DIAS CON LA FAMILIA (Three days with the family) 85 min.
6.      NACIDAS PARA SUFRIR (Born to suffer) 112 min.
7.      YO, TAMBIEN (Me too) 103 min.
8.      CELDA 211 (Cell 211) 113 min.
9.      AGORA (Agora) 126 min.
Among these Films screened I loved CELDA 211 & EL SECRETO DE SUS OJOS the most.
CELDA 211 is a Action thriller movie which is shot in a prison with all the real prisons and real location and I liked the idea and how the story progresses with the main entrance of the prison official who is going to start his new job on the same day the prisoners organize a riot. Caught up in a fast-changing and dangerous situation, he is forced to exploit for the maximum, he is a born survivor teetering on the edge of an abyss.
EL SECRETO DE OJOS is romantic thriller and a murder case which has remained indelibly etched on Benjamin Esposito’s mind. The main thing in this movie is it’s full of suspense and the conclusion in the end is somewhat unclear, now retired, he decides to go back over that sory and take another look at a past full of love, death and friendship and rewrite his future.
TRES DIAS CON LA FAMILIA is a family drama which don’t come together till their grandfather and dad of the three sons and a daughter dies, the three days of the weak and the funeral are full nostalgia and the grief brought about the death. Lea rebels against this world of hypocrisy, although it clings to her skin like a tailor suit.

It was a great experience which has given the jest and the whole idea of the films the Spanish has made and makes in their country and the culture and the living style of the country and the language is so amazing and so real acting in films.
The direction and the production were awesome, there was great camera work too and the stills taken have been amazing which are all real.
I would like to thank my mentor and my teacher for allowing me to spend some time for this beautiful film festival.
In the near future I would love to participate in the other film festivals also and love to learn so many things from them.

FACEBOOK:-

Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users.
Users may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics.
The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other better. Facebook allows anyone who declares them to be at least 13 years old to become a registered user of the website.
Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and, finally, to anyone aged 13 and over.
A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social networking service by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.
Entertainment Weekly included the site on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, saying, "How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?" Quant cast estimates Facebook has 135.1 million monthly unique U.S. visitors in October 2010. According to Social Media Today, in April 2010 an estimated 41.6% of the U.S. population had a Facebook account.
Users can create profiles with photos, lists of personal interests, contact information, and other personal information. Users can communicate with friends and other users through private or public messages and a chat feature. They can also create and join interest groups and "like pages" (formerly called "fan pages", until April 19, 2010), some of which are maintained by organizations as a means of advertising.
To allay concerns about privacy, Facebook enables users to choose their own privacy settings and choose who can see specific parts of their profile. The website is free to users, and generates revenue from advertising, such as banner ads.
Facebook requires a user's name and profile picture (if applicable) to be accessible by everyone. Users can control who sees other information they have shared, as well as who can find them in searches, through their privacy settings. The media often compare Facebook to MySpace but one significant difference between the two websites is the level of customization.
Depending on privacy settings, anyone who can see a user's profile can also view that user's Wall. In July 2007, Facebook began allowing users to post attachments to the Wall, whereas the Wall was previously limited to textual content only.

On February 23, 2010, Facebook was granted a patent on certain aspects of its News Feed. The patent covers News Feeds in which links are provided so that one user can participate in the same activity of another user. One of the most popular applications on Facebook is the Photos application, where users can upload albums and photos.
Facebook is the most and popular where all people come and connect with each other and with the world also.

An inspiring story of the creators of LAGAAN................

Chale Chalo

"An Idea That Nearly Died"
"A Script No One had The Guts To Touch"
A Shoot That Was All But Abandoned"
A Spirit That Refused To Accept Defeat"

Premiering into your home, the National Award Winning, full length movie by Satyajit Bhatkal on the making of the classic, LAGAAN. In Anamorphir Widescreen With Full Dolby Digital 5.1 Sarround sound, "Chale Chalo" journeys through the dreams and the nightmares, the loneliness and comradeship, the despair and exhilaration of Aamir Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker and the mammoth team numbering thousands, drawn from the far corners of the globe, as they battled it out in the heat of Kutch Desert.
" A great-watch on its own merit, even for someone who actually hasn't seen LAGAAN!"
the Story of how Lagaanites met challenge after challenge has striking parallels to the film itself...except that "Chale Chalo" is a true story!
This is India's first theatrically released Documentary!
u can have a look at the film in a different way as u go on the climax starts building and there comes tears in the eyes as how the pre and post production has been.
what u call as the behind the scenes is shown really the process of it during the film and the great pleasure as it completed.
it was an experience to me at least as a media student and as i have to go through these all things in my life............
it shows how to find a location, how to set up the location, how to pre plan the budget of the film and the cost of the film making, scheduling the film process, cast and crew of the film, members of the crew, scheduling of the shooting, art and set designing, process of building the film team to work on the film terms and basics. finding and setting up the jobs of the people working on the movie, Hardwork, stress, and the work.....
Aamir khan-"I am there with u ashu do what u really planned to do"
  1. development of script
  2. casting film
  3. location managers
  4. planning pre and pro production.
After all producers rejected this script of Aushutosh Gawarekar finally aamir accepted the proposal as an actor and producer of the film.

April 1998 to june 1999:-
This was the time in which the pre production was planned and acted upon. To find out the place called champaran which he needed as the set for the film was finally found in the state of most developing in the country and it was kutch in Bhugh district with no transport, high temperature, no water, hospitality, people with 3 hotels.
the music for this film was composed by the great person called A.R.Rehman.

May 1999:-
The audition for the actors started as screen test for final selection.
July:-
The selection for foreign casting started in england they all were the actors who know how to play cricket and little bit of Acting too.

Reena 1st wife of Aamir khan who was the first executive producer, designed the budget of the film. she decided the budget to be 12 Cr. which was just a brief estimation.
August-October 1999:-
Started the journey for the planting of the real village called Champaran and the real set was designed and prepared.

5Th Dec 1999:-
31 days to go for day1, they selected the junior artists from the near village and districts.

Dec 15th 1999:-
Music recording started 22 days before the day1.

1st january 2000:-
All the actors an the whole team of film came to the set up area in kutch before the shooting started, to get the real feeling and set themselves in that environment and get used to it.

6th january 2000:-
After the long pre production of 1 year with lot of Emotions and Tention. The first shot was shot, there were the whole family of Aamir khan and the whole team of "THE GREAT LAGAAN ". Everyone congratulated ashu for the biginning shot with perfect timing and the perfect schedule.
The hardest and the most toughest part of the film was the shoot of climax with atleast 10000 members as audience for cricket. The villagers of the near by villages were called for 1 day shoot and more 3 cameras were called for the different shoot and to capture the whole moment in 1 day.
As the time passed on and the shooting was too slow and not according to the schedule which was planned and the budget also shooooked 3 -5 Cr. more. There were lot of hardships and lot of injuries gng on and the shooting was also gng onn side by side.
As the shooting got over there was a great relief on the faces of each and every member of the family of the film LAGAAN.

"Jiwan mushkil jaroor hai but bahut khoobsurat bhi hota hai "

Here u go for a rock and roll experience on the making of the film..........
